1. The National Museum of Art
This museum is located in an iconic building: none other than the Banffy Palace (30 Unirii Square). When it was built, it was the residence of the governor of Transylvania. It is the most important baroque building in the city and a national symbol of 17th-century architecture.
Inside the museum, you can view a cultural heritage of more than 12,000 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, and even decorations. They provide a complete overview of the evolution of Romanian art from the 16th to the 20th centuries.
2. The Brush Factory
Now a contemporary art space, it originally served an industrial purpose. Essentially, “The Brush Factory” is an NGO that represents 20 contemporary artists, 5 exhibition spaces, 5 cultural organizations, a library, and spaces specifically created for performing arts or coworking. It is a true exponent of the nonconformity and innovation that always pervades Cluj. The exhibition space is open to the public from Wednesday to Saturday (15:00-19:00). You’ll find it at 59-61 Henri Barbusse Street.

Located at 9A Strada Fabricii de Chibrituri, it is a vibrant space. A perfect representative sample of the contemporary art and culture that can be found in every corner of Cluj.
